Dr. Alex Miller enjoys treating individuals at different levels of participation in athletics and works to improve functional quality of life. He strives to provide the best treatment plan for every patient by incorporating manual techniques and strength training.
Dr. Alex Miller grew up moving around the entire South East until he ended up in Pinehurst, North Carolina for the majority of his early life. He grew up around sports his whole life by playing soccer and baseball. While spending time on Fort Bragg with his friends and their parents, Alex participated in training exercises with them. With his time there, he observed physical therapy treatments and would listen to the stories of how impactful it was in the lives of men and women in the service. This is when Alex knew he wanted to make a career in physical therapy to help others.
Alex went on to receive his Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science from the University of South Carolina where he worked closely with multiple collegiate athletes to improve athletic performance, including baseball, softball, basketball, track/field, and soccer. He then carried all of this work to Elon University to achieve his Doctorate of Physical Therapy. Alex continued to work with athletes and assessed 2D/3D motion and gait analysis as a part of his research. He completed clinical rotations in and around the Triangle area and in Augusta, GA at the VA hospital as well. His final clinical rotation was at BYoung Physical Therapy where he was trained in 2D analysis of throwing and running mechanics.

“Outstanding physical therapy and other services to keep you healthy and moving in whatever sport or activity you do. Brandon, Lee, and Erin are the best. Very accommodating hours, some nights and early mornings. Excellent and very clean facility in an easy location. Certified in dry needling and highly effective in using this. Recently added a truly incredible 3D running gait analysis system (with a highly trained physical therapist who specializes in this, Lee) so runners can finally get to the root of their problems by seeing computer generated images at every ankle and with extreme detail. I have been a runner for 30+ years and have always run high mileage. In spite of very few injuries, I plan to have the 3D analysis to help me run faster and to minimize injuries going forward.”
